4 years have passed since the last update of the Masterformat list  issued by the construction specifications institute -CSI- in USA

The previous version was issued in 2018 and the most famous version was issued in 1995 which was divided to 16 division, the next version had many updates and the number of the divisions reached 50 including some empty divisions reserved for future expansion and was issued in 2004.

The new version is still divided into 50 divisions and to 5 subgroups which are

  • General Requirements Subgroup: Division 01.

  • Facility Construction Subgroup: Divisions 02–19.

  • Facility Services Subgroup: Divisions 20–29.

  • 5 Introduction and Applications Guide

  • Site and Infrastructure Subgroup: Divisions 30–39.

  • Process Equipment Subgroup: Divisions 40–49.

  • Group 00 is dedicated to PROCUREMENT AND CONTRATING REQUIREMENT.

Masterformat of CSI is a very successful and intelligent way of organizing the construction documents in the USA &CANADA and many other parts in the Mena region.
